“They aren’t biting papa!” Kyle whined as he stood up holding the fishing rod, waiting to see any ripple in the water near the buoy.
Kevin gulped his beer as he sat in his fishing chair, “you gotta be patient. It takes time. Fishing is about having some cold ones and talking about the ladies. How’s your luck been up there at the new high school.”
Kyle glowered at the line and firmly bit on his bottom lip. He then sat the rod down at a sturdy fixed position and walked over to the cooler. He grabbed a canned beer and an apple. Furthermore, he made his way to his chair and took a bite. “I don’t know. I might be a little too rugged for them.”
“Oh, nonsense. You’ll be fine,” Kevin sat the beer in the cupholder. He then grabbed the mosquito spray and put more. “We’re in lake country. Just tell her you’ll take her on the boat. She’ll dig that. Couple that with some beer, you’ll be in her panties in no time.”
Kyle slowly chewed on the apple as he kept his eye on the line. “Ya know, I don’t think they like that stinky catfish bait. I should’ve went with the worms.” Kyle then stood back up and walked to the shore of the lake.
“What are you doing, boy?” Kevin inquired. “That catfish bait is fine. Just wait. Don’t touch it.”
Kyle threw the apple into the lake near the line. It skipped a few times on the water and fell in. Suddenly, something moved the line.
